First Game Day

Amelia experienced her first OU game day last weekend. Here she is at our home base for the weekend. Our friends Kim and Pam have an RV and we parked with all the other fans for the weekend at the Sooner Village at Lloyd Noble.

We ventured out on campus to explore. She liked all the flowers.


We explored some of buildings and fountains on campus. She asked about the library so I took her in to see one of my favorite spots - the great reading room in Bizzell. She was a little disappointed to find out that there weren't any pictures in the dissertations but she had to sit down for a while and check one out.

Kings of Leon Fan

Amelia's favorite "daddy" song is Taper Jean Girl by Kings of Leon. She likes the Sha Ha ... Hey Hey part the best. Here she is singing for you. You will notice that in the middle of the song she clinches her teeth together. She was giving me her fake smile because she thought I was taking a still pic. This fake smile is directly related to the 4,000 some pictures I have taken to support this blog.

New Jeep

Amelia's friend Georgia gave her a Barbie Jeep this week. She was pretty excited about it. So far she likes the slow speed and will not go in reverse. Just give her some time and that will change. She also now knows about a winch and what a roll cage is.

But eventually she gave it a very quick touch.

She said this one is just my size. She wanted to get in the stall with him but we decided to just pet him over the fence.

Slow Food Picnic

Amelia had a great time at the Slow Food Picnic. She ran right up to the "fun ponies" and rode every one. Stay tuned this week for more pics.

New Crop

We have a great crop of fall vegetables coming in. Amelia loves going out into the garden to see what is growing.

This is one of our zucchini flowers. We will be stuffing it with cheese and cooking it today.

Halloween Preview - Little Mermaid Costume

First Fishing Trip

Amelia and I took a fishing trip to the small pond near our house today. After about 10 minutes her Barbie fishing pole was bent in half and about to break. We pulled up this baby catfish. Here she gives you a fake smile because she is really worried that the fish is going to hurt her.

First Harvest

We started a garden this Fall. Amelia loves to go out and see how it is growing. We harvested our first crop of radishes tonight. They were very flavorful and a little too peppery for her liking. Mom and Dad enjoyed them.

Curly Hair

We tried curling her hair this weekend. She wasn't real sure about the whole process. Once we had her head full of curlers she started screaming and we took them out. She looked really cute but demanded that we straighten her hair back to the way it was. So you won't be seeing her with curls any time soon.

We have started a garden this fall. Amelia loves to come out and see what is growing and she promised to try each vegetable that we grow. She even went with me to pick up the "cow poo poo" used in the soil. Here she is checking on the lima beans.

VICTORY - Best Decorated Bike - 2008

Amelia and I spent a few hours today decorating her bike for the neighborhood party and parade.


Pre-parade trying to explain that it wasn't a race.
