Amelia has met the good guy on two occasions this season. If you ask her she will whisper to you what she asked for. Right now Santa is coming in fairly handy for us as a behavior modification tool. He is always watching and the threat of no presents or coal and rocks in a stocking have some effect on her her behavior. But she is growing tired of waiting.
Amelia loves to go to the hardware store. There are so many things to look at. We try and go to the workshops on Saturdays where we get to build things together. So far she had made a mailbox and basketball goal. And you can't even think about walking past the lawn mowers without a test drive.
Amelia went to her cousin Jack's birthday party last weekend at the Young Chef's Academy. Jack is in the center back row of the picture above. She had a great time making a mess and also pizza.
We had been trying for months to get her to wear her hair in pig tails. Once the neighbor girl did it that was all it took. Admiring her new look in the mirror.
We have been watching a very large spider outside of our study this summer. She is a harmless garden spider. Last night a large locust got caught in the web. the locust was just a big as the spider By the next morning the locust was gone and the spider was much much bigger.
The posts may have been a little slow this month. I have been directing and teaching in a summer program for Chinese students at the law school. Emma has been teaching in the program also. Some of our students came over for dinner last night. Amelia had a ball. They were all very interested in her ... and Rufus.
Amelia and I were playing with these plastic wine glasses the other day. In the end the joke was on me because she finally succeeded in breaking the "unbreakable" base off the stem of one glass.
