Watch Me Grow 8/04

Amelia has been busy the past few months. From left to right these pictures were taken around 6/15, 7/15 and 8/15/04. That doll just gets smaller and smaller. Click on the picture to enlarge it for a better view.

Cat and the Fiddle

Amelia debuts more of her extensive wardrobe in today's post. This cat and the fiddle outfit complete with kimono style top and cat ears hat was a gift from Mike and Lynn - thanks guys. The first picture demonstrates an immutable law of kids clothes, any outfit including animal appendages (ears and tails especially) will be extremely cute.

Amelia sports her new shades. I think we have an Elton John fan on our hands.

Amelia enjoys a surprisingly mild Oklahoma August. Out-of-town visitors to this blog familiar with Oklahoma weather would be very surprised at the low temperatures Amelia has ushered in for her first summer.

PS: In our opinion Amelia looks especially radiant in purple. Thanks to Aunt Alee for making this beautiful couture gown.

Aunt Alee

Amelia's aunt Alee came to visit this weekend. Alee has all the artistic ability in the family and hopefully some of that was passed on to Amelia. Dad snapped the amateurish shot above as Amelia posed for what will certainly be some classic b/w pics taken by her aunt. We now have a whole series of Amelia sans pantaloons that she will certainly detest for most of her adolescence. Friends and family get your orders in now. The more well distributed the images are the less likely she will be able to free herself from them by simply deleting them from dad's hard drive.

Baby's Got a New Pair of Shoes

Amelia took her first 'step' toward shoe wearing with some fine fashon mary jane socks. These dickies for your feet come in six colors from trumpette.com Thanks Jane (Traci Quick's Mom). Doesn't she look great in them?

Rufus and Baby Sister

Ruf checks out his baby sister.

Remember this guy, Rufus. Before Amelia came along he took center stage. He even had his own blog. He gets by alright these days. Sneaking in naps after being woken up for night time feedings. He even gets to clean up after some spit ups. We still love you Ruf.

Drunk on milk. After her usual 4 oz.milk cocktail little Amelia falls into a comatose drunken state.

Yes we are biased but I have never seen a happier or cuter baby.

Sweet Dreams

Amelia sleeps in a very particular position. You will notice her right leg is kicked over her left and her right arm is cocked back. This is her preferred sleeping position that she can be found in night after night.

She's Got Legs

After Emma agreed to pass on the name Roxie I never thought I would refer to a picture of my child with the title of a ZZ Top song. As you can see Amelia has been busy this past month growing in behemoth proportions especially in the leg department. Compare the picture above taken 7.18.04 with the one below taken just one month earlier on 6.16.04.

Hiatus

Dad will be away from the keyboard until around July 19th. Amelia plans to take lots of naps (as shown above) and keep mom on her toes. Check back around the 19th for some new pictures.

Play date gone wrong

Amelia had a play date today with her friend Alex. She got all dressed up in a big girl outfit but something just wasn't right.

Then it happened - a colossal gastric blow out the size of which mom and dad had never seen before. She is doing much better now. Thanks to guest photographer Erin (mom of Alex) for these great photos.

Relaxing in the bath!

Happy 4th of July, Hail Britannia and Long Live Europa

Here is Amelia in her 4th of July dress from her Grandma on a flag once flown above the U.S. Capital (luckily no spit-up)

Little Amelia is quite the citizen of the world. She is a U.S. citizen by birth and a British citizen by descent thanks to her mother and the British Nationality Act of 1981

Amelia is also a citizen of the European Union by virtue of her British citizenship and Article 17 of the Treaty of Rome.
