Insolent Mice

Amelia loves the Nutcracker. We recently got her a Nutcracker video which she watches several times a day. She started repeating one special line that helps build her vocabulary. Quoting the Nutcracker "Insolent Mice." She also has nightmares that King Rat bites her on the arm, ouch!

Amelia loves to be tickled. I was tickling her legs and it was just too much for her. You can make it out toward the end, she says "its too dangerous."

Amelia got a watch this Christmas in her dressup box. It doesn't work but when you are 2 the world pretty much works on your schedule so keeping perfect time really doesn't matter.

Welcome Back Kim & Pat

Kim & Pat just moved back to our neighborhood. They brought Amelia 2 princess dolls, Belle and Jasmine.

Teenager?

This is not a pose. How fitting that just a few days ago she went through the initial steps of potty training without much trouble at all.

Build A Bear

Amelia's Cousin (first once removed if my genealogy is correct) Ben gave her a Build-A-Bear for Christmas. She loves it.

Bike Ride

Santa brought Amelia a new Dora Bike for Christmas. When we first saw the bike we thought it might be too large for her. However, as you can see she has no trouble riding it at all. Mom and Dad are the ones who have trouble keeping up with her.

Christmas Time Is Here

This is what it's all about. Christmas eve, tearing into presents, and being extra nice because you know Santa is watching.

"Dora" Haircut

Amelia got a real haircut about a month ago. According to her it is a "Dora" haircut. And everyone else, we get "two daddies" haircuts. Two daddies derives from Hardball and other newscasts that she tolerates on a nightly basis. She uses the term two daddies to describe anything that is adult. Dividing the world into things that are of her age and everything else has begun.

Time to Meet Santa

Amelia was so confident when she finally got to meet the big man. She quizzed him to make sure he really was Santa. You live at the North Pole? You have a beard? You have black boots? You have a slead? You come down the chimney? She was convinced - he was the real deal.

Trick or Treat

This year was her first year really trick or treating. Last year I pulled her in a wagon. So she rang the door at the first house, said “trick or treat” and walked right in to check out the house, strolling through the living room and toward the kitchen. Luckily it was our neighbor’s house and they were very sweet.
